7TH ANNUAL ROE JAN RAMBLE BIKE TOUR IS GREAT SUCCESS

Funds raised benefit both the Rail Trail and Community Christmas Baskets

Spectacular weather and a huge effort on the part of local volunteers contributed to a record turnout for the Roe Jan Ramble Bike Tour on September 21 when 581 riders pedaled around the Roe Jan area.  This was a 40% increase in riders over last year.

As of a few days after the ride, Chair Tom Goldsworthy reported that the event had raised over $19,000 for the Harlem Valley Rail Trail. Contributions can be made until October 31.  Additionally, the local charity Community Christmas Baskets Ltd, who served lunch at the event, raised $2,333 in net proceeds.  Community Christmas Baskets Ltd works with the Roe Jan Food Pantry to feed needy families during the holidays.
