Do you like living in our community?

Are there things that could be improved or changed that would make the Roe Jan community — Ancram, Copake and Hillsdale – a better place to live?

The Roeliff Jansen Community Library is convening a series of community conversations with groups of residents of the Roe Jan area. Each ninety minute to two-hour conversation will provide an opportunity to discuss and to better understand participants’ hopes for the Roe Jan community, including concerns, goals, and what might make a difference in strengthening this community.

These will not be conversations about the library, town business or politics —they will be conversations about what matters to residents like you. They are meant to help us all understand our community better and to forge a better way for getting things done together.

Please participate in one of the three conversations:

  • Saturday, May 18, 2 pm – 4 pm: Hillsdale Firehouse, 9378 Rt. 22
  • Wednesday, May 29, 6 pm – 8 pm: Copake Firehouse, 390 Cty. Rt. 7A
  • Tuesday, June 18, 12 pm -2 pm, Our Lady of Hope Parish Hall, 8074 Rt. 22, Copake Falls (Light lunch to be served)

We will get back to you to share what we have learned and how it can help make our community stronger. And, we will share our insights with the Roe Jan Community so all can work together more effectively.

Please register at https://roejancommunityconversatons.eventbrite.com or RSVP to me at 518 325-4101 or RJCL9091@gmail.com. We want to make sure we have enough refreshments on hand! And do not hesitate to contact me for more information.

We hope you can participate in one of the conversations. You are also welcome to pass the invitation on to a family member, partner, neighbor or friend.

Sincerely,

Tamara Gaskell
