Eagle Scout Project helps out Copake Memorial Park
Alexander (Alex) Chamberlain of Scout Troop 752 which is charted by the Cadby-Shutts VFW Post 7552 of Hillsdale, NY recently completed his Eagle Scout Service Project which consisted of constructing four all-inclusive picnic tables for the Town of Copake Memorial Park. In addition to requirements of earning a minimum of 21 merit badges (13 required and 8 elective), providing leadership to the troop and living by the Scout Oath/Law in his everyday life; Alex was required to plan, develop, and give leadership to others in a service project helpful to any religious institution, any school, or community. Alex solicited donations and all materials were donated by Herrington’s and all labor was provided by Alex’s fellow scouts, scouters and adult volunteers totaling approximately 50-hours. Alex graduated from Taconic Hills High School in June and has enlisted in the New York Army National Guard and is currently in Basic Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina.
