Copake/Hillsdale Farmers Market
The Copake and Hillsdale Farmers Markets are combining forces to create a newly expanded market for the 2014 season – the Copake Hillsdale Farmers Market. This new joint venture will be held at the Roe Jan Park on Route 22, every Saturday from May 31st through October 25th – 9 am -1 pm.
The choice of the Roe Jan Park as the joint location was based on the great success of the Hillsdale Farmers Market’s 2013 season. The location is easily accessible from both Copake and Hillsdale as well as neighboring towns and highly visible to travelers along Route 22.
The expanded market will offer more choices of farm fresh products to consumers. Ample parking, picnic tables and a covered roof are some of the amenities that make the Roe Jan Park’s “Harvest Barn” location a convenient place for one-stop shopping. There will be music every week, as well as special events and cooking demonstrations.
The Copake Hillsdale Farmers Market is seeking new local vendors of fresh fruit, ready-to-eat food, prepared food, “fine” baked goods, goat cheese, fresh mozzarella, poultry, lamb, fish (fresh or smoked), eggs, yogurt, milk, and micro brewed beer.
The Steering Committee for the new market represents both towns, with the founder of the former Hillsdale Market, Timi Bates, and the former Copake Market Manager Roberta Roll. Rounding out the committee are Willa Horton, Ron Bixby, Diane Creed, Jeanne Van Hoesen and Laura Griffin. Linda Senk Altman is PR/Marketing Advisor.
Updates and special events will be posted on Facebook starting in late spring: Copake Hillsdale Farmers Market. A weekly email newsletter will be sent to all those wishing to be on the e-list.
