FREE Legal Caregiver Education and Consultation Program
The Columbia County Office for the Aging is offering a new program for caregivers of seniors. In addition, older relatives, including parents, age 55 and older, providing care to adults ages 18-59 with disabilities are also eligible. The Legal Education and Caregiver Consultation Program is a FREE program that will provide information to caregivers on legal issues and concerns (such as wills, POA’s, trusts, guardianship, MOLST forms, etc.) related to the seniors they care for, as well as providing individual and or group counseling. Counseling will be given to caregivers to assist them in making decisions and solving problems relating to their care giving roles. If you or someone you know is affected by Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, Parkinson’s or any progressive disease, the time for legal and financial planning is now.
