PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Town Board of the Town of Copake shall hold a public hearing on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 beginning at 8:00 am at the Town Hall, 230 Mountain View Road, Copake, NY, 12516 for Proposed Local Law # 1 of 2016 entitled “Town of Copake Commercial Solar Energy Installation Moratorium Law” followed by a Special Board Meeting.
The proposed local law would prohibit, for a period of one year, the development or installation of commercial solar energy facilities in the Town of Copake. The prohibition would apply only to commercial solar facilities, which are those that are installed for the primary purpose of large-scale or widespread sale and distribution of electricity. Solar energy systems installed on-site for individual residential, business, or agricultural use, including their incidental sale of excess electricity, would continue to be permitted.
