Notice of Public Hearing Pursuant to Eminent Domain Procedure Law

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, that the Town Board of the Town of Copake will hold a public hearing pursuant to Article 2 of the New York Eminent Domain Procedure Law for the purpose of determining the need and location of a public project prior to acquisition. The proposed public project is the acquisition of one or more fee interest(s) or easement interest(s) in and to:
Approximately ±6,310 square feet (±0.145 acres) of real property located at 171 County Route 7A, Copake, New York (constituting a portion of Tax Map No. 187.1-1-19);
Approximately ±5,917 square feet (±0.136 acres) of real property located at 69 Main Street, Copake, New York (constituting a portion of Tax Map No. 187.1-1-21);
Approximately ±1,486 square feet (±0.034 acres) of real property located at County Route 7A, Copake, New York (constituting a portion of Tax Map No. 187.1-1.17); and
Approximately ±458 square feet (0.011 acres) of real property located at County Route 7A (off), Copake, New York (constituting a portion of Tax Map No. 187.1-1-20),
For construction of and use as a proposed municipal parking lot, inclusive of associated appurtenances, such as, and without limitation, access and circulation aisles, access controls, striping, signage, curbing, lighting, safety structures, sidewalks, and pedestrian amenities. The public hearing will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at 6:40 p.m. at the Town of Copake Town Hall, 230 Mountain View Road, Copake, New York. All interested persons in this matter will have an opportunity to be heard at that time and place. Those property owners who may subsequently wish to challenge condemnation of their property via judicial review may do so only on the basis of issues, facts, and objections raised at such hearing.
